The Power System Operation Corporation Organization (POSOCO) has announced the implementation plan for regulation of power supply from Wednesday to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and two Reliance Discoms in Delhi.
POSOCO has ordered on Friday the power regulation from NHPC stations to the state of Uttar Pardesh and Delhi as the power utilities in these two states failed to clear outstanding dues of NHPC in time. The Delhi Discoms are BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and BSES Yamuna power Limited. The regulation of power will come into effect from February 22, 2012 from NHPC`s stations for a period of 180 days.
NHPC and Power grid had written letters to POSOCO requesting for the regulation of power after UPPCL and Reliance companies failed to pay up. The regulation of power means lesser supply for these states.
For power regulation to Uttar Pardesh the NHPC generating stations with total capacity of 2774 MW identified with states share are 690 MW Salal (6.95%), 94.2 MW Tanakpur (22.64%), 540 MW Chamera-l (20.27%), 480 MW Uri-l (20.06%), 300 MW Chamera-ll (27.35%), 280 MW Dhauliganga (25.58%), 390 MW Dulhasti (27.39%),and 120 MW Sewa (28.08%).
Similarly for power regulation to two Delhi Discoms NHPC generating stations with Delhi’s share are Bairasiul180MW (11%), Salal 690MW (11.62%), Tanakpur94.2MW (12.9%), Chamera-1- 540MW (7.9%), Uri-1-480Mw (11.04%), Chamera-2-300MW (13.33%), Dalhasti 390MW (12.93%), Dhaulaganga280MW (13.21%) and Sewa 120MW (13.30%).
POSOCO has directed these utilities that due to lesser supply from NHPC stations for non- payment of outstanding dues power supply to sensitive and important installations like defense, mines, water supply and railways will not be affected. The other consumers will bear the brunt of lesser power.
